Armenia election: prime minister Nikol Pashinyan wins snap election by a landslide

Armenian prime minister Nikol Pashinyan, who called a snap election on Sunday to cement the country’s political shift following ‘velvet revolution’, was re-elected with more than 70 % of the vote, Euronews reports.

Elected leader by lawmakers in May after mass anti-corruption and anti-cronyism protests that latest a week, Pashinyan stepped down in October to dissolve parliament and ready the country for the early election. He aimed to secure his government after coming to power in a peaceful revolution earlier this year.
