Some flights at the UK’s Heathrow airport have been suspended due to sightings of a drone, the airport confirmed on Tuesday, reports Euronews.
“We are currently responding to a drone sighting at Heathrow and are working closely with the Met Police to prevent any threat to operational safety,” a Heathrow spokesperson said in a statement.
“As a precautionary measure, we have stopped departures while we investigate. We apologise to passengers for any inconvenience this may cause,” it added.
Flight’s to the UK’s Gatwick airport ground to a halt in December, which affected more than 100,000 travellers over the Christmas period.
