UK government survives vote of no-confidence: 325 for, 306 against

The UK government has survived a no-confidence vote by 325 votes for and 306 against, reports Euronews.

Opposition leader Jeremy Corbyn tabled the motion of no confidence in the government after May’s Withdrawal Agreement was rejected by 230 votes on Wednesday.

There are 650 lawmakers in the House of Commons the government needed 318 votes to win, as seven members of the Irish nationalist Sinn Fein party did not sit, four speakers do not vote and four lawmakers who help count votes are not included.
